Practice estimating, insulation systems, acoustical applications, and safety.
The CXP C-2 practice bank contains 200 questions. Use a free diagnostic to check your starting point across insulation, acoustical work, estimating, and safety topics.
The C-2 guide applies to exams scheduled on or after August 1, 2023, and lists approximate section percentages. CSLB's Examination FAQ lists a 3.5-hour exam duration but no per-trade question count. CXP's 115-question mock is not an official exam length.

What is the net area of an attic that measures 30' x 60' if 12% is occupied by wood framing?
Correct answer: 1,584 sq ft
Explanation: First calculate the gross area: 30 ft × 60 ft = 1,800 sq ft; then calculate the framing area: 1,800 sq ft × 0.12 = 216 sq ft; finally subtract it: 1,800 sq ft − 216 sq ft = 1,584 sq ft. Therefore, 1,584 sq ft is correct; 1,728 sq ft deducts 4% instead of 12%, 1,650 sq ft uses an unsupported deduction, and 2,016 sq ft exceeds the gross area. California Energy Code 2022, CCR Title 24, Part 6, §150.0(m), governs required insulation performance, but it does not alter this net-area calculation.
