Practice HVAC estimating, system fabrication and installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and safety.
CXP's current C-20 bank contains 201 practice questions. Begin with a free diagnostic and use your results to plan review across heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and safety.
The current C-20 guide applies to exams scheduled on or after April 1, 2026, and lists approximate section percentages. The 100-question mock is CXP's practice format, not a claim about the official exam's item count.

What is the total estimated equipment cost for a commercial HVAC replacement project requiring three 5-ton package units at $4,200 each, and 120 linear feet of spiral duct at $12 per foot?
Correct answer: $14,040 total
Explanation: Calculate the package-unit cost first: 3 × $4,200 = $12,600. Then calculate the spiral-duct cost: 120 × $12 = $1,440. The total is $12,600 + $1,440 = $14,040, so the choice stating $14,040 total is correct. The $13,440, $15,120, and $16,240 choices are respectively $600 low, $1,080 high, and $2,200 high. No California statute establishes this arithmetic; B&P Code §7058 addresses contractor classification, while the estimate must follow the project scope and contract documents.
